Kuwait Project (Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research) In 2003 Kimseed provided technical services to K.I.S.R. at the Sulaibiya Agricultural Research Station. The following year Kimseed provided equipment and advice for trials of techniques suitable for the remediation of damage caused by the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait. Kimseed proposed and trialled a technology dramatically different and significantly more cost-effective that the solutions proposed by the UN Compensation Commission.

The final report on the project has confirmed the success of the Kimseed method, demonstrating that expensive interventions such as irrigation, soil emendation and shelter belts were unnecessary, and in some circumstances, counter-productive. This will potentially allow parts of the UN awards to be used for rangeland management and ecological research over and above remediation. The success of the pitting seeder in channelling meagre rainfall to the seed bed and promoting germination was a major contributor to the success of the project. This machine mimics the natural process where wind-blown seed lodges in depressions left camels. Ironically, the impervious nature of tar-crete means that a high percentage of rainfall run off reaches the seed beds formed and seeded by this machine. In general, Kimseed can: 1) Produce the initial Environmental Assessment and Viability Study of any Project, large or small. We can identify the required species, develop and implement seed banks, produce Soil and environmental Data Studies to properly implement a project, and train the staff in charge to manage the early stages of a project. In the absence of local seeds, we can suggest and supply replacement varieties suitable to the Geographical and Environmental conditions of a project. 2) Supply the Equipment required for Native Seed Harvesting - Small or Large - Supply the Seed Processing and Seed Storage Equipment to handle seeds so that their viability and germination characteristics are fully protected. 3) Supply the Equipment to properly plant these seeds as per their requirements, advising those in charge on how to prepare soils and seeds to achieve maximum germination results.
